About the Incoterms® 2010 Course

Using the correct Incoterm (EXX, FOB, CIF) is an essential part of any international trade contract. When goods are shipped in international markets the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Incoterm defines clearly for both the seller and the buyer which party is responsible for the costs, risks, delivery and obligations for the goods during their transit. The ICC published the first Incoterms® guide in 1936 and periodically they revise and update the terms and publication in order ensure that they match modern business practice. The previous revisions was Incoterms® 2000 and the latest revision Incoterms® 2010 were launched on the 1st January 2011. During the past 20 years Incoterms®, as a subject, has featured extensively in our training portfolio and the launch of the new revisions gives Export Training Services the opportunity to provide an "up-date" seminar for our customers.

The main objectives of this seminar can be summarised as follows:

  • To provide an up-date on the new revisions and highlight the main changes between the old and the new terms.
  • To introduce the reasoning behind the changes and the impact on the export/import trade.
  • To ensure that import/export personnel are kept up-to-date with their skills and knowledge.
